UK-wide | Hire, Lease on the Motability Scheme or Purchase Outright
Hire
If you’re looking to rent a WAV for a short trip away or require one more permanently, you can hire on a short or long-term basis. We’re here to offer guidance and can provide a no-obligation quote. Your hire vehicle can be delivered straight to your door or you can arrange to collect it if you prefer. With either option, you’ll receive a thorough vehicle demonstration of the wheelchair accessible features so you’re completely comfortable when you’re on the road.
Motability Scheme
With local mobility consultants throughout the UK, Allied Mobility will visit you at home to provide a free, no-obligation demonstration of the WAV that will best suit your needs. They can even help with any paperwork when it comes to submitting your Motability Scheme order. An annual safety check and mobile vehicle servicing on Ford, Peugeot and Citroen are included in your lease.
Purchase
If you’re not eligible for Motability or would rather own your wheelchair accessible car outright, you can buy directly from Allied Mobility.
If buying a new mobility vehicle is not within your budget, we also have a wide range of RAC-approved used wheelchair accessible vehicles. These include 12 months breakdown cover, 3 years RAC Warranty and your first mobile vehicle service is completely free too.
What is a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle?
A wheelchair accessible vehicle (or WAV for short) is specially designed and engineered to ensure a wheelchair user can safely and comfortably travel in their wheelchair alongside the driver and fellow passengers. The base vehicle floor is lowered and a permanent, low gradient wheelchair ramp is fitted at the rear to allow the wheelchair or powerchair to enter the vehicle.
Safety and Seating
Safety is of utmost importance so every WAV is fitted with high-quality wheelchair restraints to secure the wheelchair/ powerchair in its travelling position. There’s also full lap and shoulder seatbelts for all passengers.
If you need a helping hand, an in-built electric-assist winch can be attached to the wheelchair frame to support when ascending and descending the ramp.
Depending on the WAV that best suits your needs, there’s an abundance of seating layouts available across Allied Mobility’s range, including the option of ISOFIX on certain vehicles.
Vehicle Features
Allied Mobility WAVs come packed with brilliant features including air conditioning, privacy glass and reverse cameras or sensors. The entire car is kept entertained too with DAB radio (Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto available on certain models) and USB or USBC points to charge up compatible devices.
