Major Trauma Group Committee Members Finalists at the Personal Injury Awards 2021

We were delighted to see firms within the Major Trauma Group shortlisted at last month’s Personal Injury Awards 2021, which saw hundreds of personal injury-focused professionals celebrate a vital sector and recognise the important work being done on behalf of extremely vulnerable clients on Tuesday 23rd November. These awards represent a unique opportunity to celebrate the work done by individuals and organisations in the personal injury sector.

Both Ashtons Legal and Martin Usher, Partner at Lime Solicitors were nominated within the Catastrophic Injury Team of the Year and Catastrophic Injury Lawyer of the Year categories, it was an honour to be named as Finalists amongst such well-respected peers who have delivered incredible results over the past 12 months.

These awards follow October’s recognition of the Group’s Chair, Trevor Sterling, who was shortlisted for the Law Society’s ‘Legal Personality of the Year’ Award, where he was highly commended in this category at the awards ceremony.

The Major Trauma Group’s Committee members are passionate about supporting individuals through major trauma and understand what needs to be done to secure the best possible legal and rehabilitative outcomes. The team works hard to provide the services that trauma survivors are entitled to but may not know about or be able to afford.

In being shortlisted for the Catastrophic Injury Team of the Year, Ashtons Legal is one of seven law firms identified as a key service provider in personal injury. Catastrophic injury typically results in long-term health problems, permanent disability or reduced life expectancy. As it is a traumatic experience for the individuals suffering and their loved ones, it is important to have access to reliable and supportive lawyers who understand how best to navigate the case. Ashtons consistently provide expert legal advice on liability and claims as well as financial advice to secure personal finances in the most effective way before and after compensation.

Martin Usher has remarkable experience providing legal counsel in serious injury and major trauma cases. Martin provides expertise and support so that his clients can focus their attention on rehabilitation and recovery. Most notably, Martin acted for a client in the 2017 Westminster terror attack, using a recently amended piece of legislation regarding the use of vehicles in terror attacks to secure significant compensation for the injured client.

The process of suffering injury, accessing care and claiming compensation is a difficult and drawn-out process. As a result, the work that our Committee members do is crucial in alleviating the burden placed on those suffering and ensuring that claimants get the best result possible. The Major Trauma Group is proud to work with such talent and be able to draw on this expertise to provide legal services to those in need.
