The UK network of specialist serious injury solicitors supporting people after life-changing injury

About Chiltern Music Therapy

Chiltern

Chiltern Music Therapy is an award-winning social enterprise. Our passion and promise is to strive for a caring world where music therapy is the transformative thread in everyday life. We are therefore dedicated to making our services accessible to those in need and offer our specialist music therapy and Neurologic Music Therapy support across a range of educational, healthcare, rehabilitation, and community settings.

Due to the unique way in which it is processed in the brain, music can be used to build new neural networks around areas damaged by injury. For those who sustain trauma because of serious injury, we recommend Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT), an evidence-based, neuroscientific research system of 20 standardised clinical techniques that support physical skills, cognitive skills and speech and communication. Supporting emotional wellbeing and adaptation to life injury also forms a significant part of this work. All members of our neuro and medical services team are HCPC-registered, qualified to Master’s level, and have undertaken additional specialist training in NMT. Chiltern was the first organisation in the UK to bring Neurologic Music Therapy to community and rehabilitation settings and has seen first-hand the benefits that this intervention can bring to patients and their families. Our historic passion and commitment to increasing access to NMT across the care pathway continues, and we are privileged to be a leading voice in this mission.
