We specialise in offering bespoke pain management services to case managers and solicitors for personal injury cases.

We firmly believe in working in a collaborative way right from the moment of assessment, creating a joint treatment plan with our clients, and ensuring we are always working towards shared goals as effectively as possible.

What our Clients say

We use evidence based approaches including CBT, ACT, EMDR, Compassion Focussed Therapy, and Graded Motor Imagery.  All our clinicians are psychologically minded, trauma informed and have additional knowledge and skills on contemporary pain approaches.

We can offer sessions face-to-face or remotely and have a rapidly expanding network of clinicians nationwide. We pride ourselves on the passion for what we do, our specialist expertise, and the fantastic outcomes we achieve as a team.

In 2021, 100% of clients completing rehabilitation with us improved their confidence to complete everyday activities despite pain; over 80% had an improvement in anxiety and depression and over 80% of clients improved from above to below the threshold for PTSD by discharge. Below are a few of the lovely comments we have received. We love what we do!

Testimonials for Retraining Pain

Read a Case Study from Retraining Pain

Phantom limb pain and PTSD

4 years after a significant foot injury and an amputation, our client was continuing to experience significant symptoms of PTSD, including flashbacks and poor sleep, and struggling with persistent pain, including phantom limb pain. He had accessed some brief therapy, but had lost hope that he could ever feel better. We offered a collaborative multidisciplinary assessment, where we discussed how his PTSD symptoms, persistent pain, and fear of causing more damage or pain were likely to be impacting on one another. We began regular pain specialist physiotherapy sessions and clinical psychology sessions, both in person and via video call. He made a full recovery from his symptoms of PTSD with EMDR therapy and began to sleep through the night for the first time since the accident. His mobility and gait pattern improved, and his mood gradually became less depressed and self critical. He stopped taking opioid medication, and with the improvement in his cognitive function he was able to socialise again and engage in more of the things he loves to do.

We work in a collaborative way, so that right from assessment, all our team members and the clients we are working with are in agreement about our understanding of their pain and the treatment goals. We meet frequently as a team to ensure that our intervention is as effective as possible and any barriers to progression can be identified and resolved as soon as possible.
